Another ‘busy’ weekend at Southend with nice sunny weather!
As is customary, first up is the Aer Arann ATR departing to Waterford, EI-BYO the best liveried and most elderly aircraft in the aged Aer Arann fleet.

Now to fulfill the title name. Saturday afternoon saw a Jet2 757 positioning in from Manchester for maintenance, landing Runway 06.

Coming very close to a bird strike as the 757 scattered them on arrival!!

The previous aircraft had reported the birds on the threshold, however the pilot elected to continue!
Fast forward 24 hours and another Jet2 aircraft is on approach, also from Manchester but this time G-CELJ a 737.

As some angry dark clouds were rolling in. This aircraft is positioning in for overnight hangarage and departure to Cologne and Craivo for Ford tomorrow.

Hope this is of interest, and I also hope my current string of luck with movements at Southend continues!

Thanks a lot, I’m glad you liked the 757 shot. Far more efficient way of clearing birds than a flair gun!

Thanks for your comment, and I would certainly miss Aer Arann’s many liveries. Apparently one of their ATR42s, EI-CBK is currently in the paintshop at Shannon, being painted into Aer Lingus Regional livery. If that’s the case, Aer Arann; 4 ATR42s will be painted in 4 completely different liveries!!

Lovely sunny photos, thanks for sharing them 🙂 Would miss the Aer Arann livery if they were to ever disappear.
