The NTSB report into a near miss at Logan International makes scary reading. One airliner took off over another while both were on take off rolls! the reactions of one pilot prevented a collision.

I wonder if any of the passengers in either aircaft realized what was happening

Ahh right sorry missed 737 called V1. Do with the extra time speeding up on runway whilst the EIN took off the 737 would be a bit above V1 so would have to have taken off! I get it now lol!

The reports says the the FO noticed the other airplane after reaching V1 speed which is the rejection decision speed. Above that speed you go but in such extreme situations all bets are off.

737 still took off? I would have thought a RTO would be in order, but hey im no pilot!

Wow, they are very, very, very lucky to say the least.
