Two Dormant Executive Airliner at a Cloudy Southend

The weather has not been very pleasant today, however here’s a couple of executive airliners at Southend.
First is VQ-BVQ, a brand new A319 ACJ which arrived in primer three weeks ago, and has been in Air Liver ever since. It was rolled out to make way for an easyJet A319 at last today.

From a brand new aircraft no to an exceptionally old one. M-FAHD is the oldest aircraft to visit for maintenance at Southend being 45 years old, built in 1966.

This aircraft looks a lot better in the sunshine, so here’s a photo of it arriving from, Doha on the 1st of August. A lot of work is needed to keep such an old aircraft in the air!

The aircraft had the Vaslan mod and winglets fitted 20 year ago. It probably has relatively low hours on it since it ‘only’ spent 15 years in commercial airline service with TAA before being converted into a VIP config.

M-FAHD could be the last regular 100 series visitor to Southend, as the other one VP-CJN is at Southend and up for sale. VP-CJN is 41 years old, so I would imagine that its likelihood of being sold on isn’t great.

It would be interesting to know how many hours the 727 has done ?

Great 727 shots.
I can’t image that there are many passenger 727-100s flying.
Still, it looke well looked after and someone has taken the not inconsiderable expense of fitting winglets to it.
