libyan rebels land at NWI….

Hi all……

Took a picture of a visiting Learjet this afternoon,on arriving home saw on the news that its was chartered by the Libyan Goverment to carry two injured Rebels for medical treatment at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.

Weeelllll . . . I’m rather puzzled that you did think it. The NHS has been treating foreigners for money for many years, & has always, AFAIK (it certainly had when I worked in it in the 1970s, & enforcement is apparently stricter now) had rules requiring anyone coming to this country with a pre-existing condition to pay.

Why did you think otherwise?

Found this today while Reading through the News and it says that the Libyan Goverment have Paid for The Injured to be treated over here.

Why would it be free? Unless they have residency here, or dual nationality, they’d be liable to pay. The NHS isn’t free for anyone in the world who feels like coming here for treatment, & never has been.

They’re no longer rebels, BTW. They’re now soldiers in the national army.

Image aside, why are they being flown to the UK in a German aircraft for (I guess free) treatment? Beggars belief. More taxpayers money down the drain. It’s a good job our economy is so strong;):mad:
