That IL76 is certainly looks every bit a ‘cold war jet’ A great bunch of shots from those gardens! All I get over my garden is an endless stream of Ryan’s and Easys at around 5,000ft. Thanx for posting those pix guys:)

I got this today, but was nearly rendered deaf in the process… Are these planes allowed in the UK?

I was lucky to have some sunshine. Believe it or not, the tropics are not frequently bathed in sunshine. It is rainy season now and always cloudy. In the dry season, it is always hazy, I am told that it is the dust from the Sahara desert. There is no “autumn”, “winter” or “spring” here .

The first picture of the Air Atlantic/Cargolux 742 is absolutely stunning.

A couple of shots I got in my own garden today, I don’t have a very sophisticated camera and these were taken without a zoom lens. I’m about 2 miles from the threshold just to the right of the approach path. BTW my Kodak automatically takes the pictures at max resolution (about 2MB) but the Canon takes them at around 700KB and I don’t know how to change that. But I think that Kodak sucks.

Thanks for the info. As can be seen, LH is now using it to Libreville (confirmed here). They must have discontinued the A330. I did a flight LBV-FRA-IAD last year (see trip reports) on the A330. Must be low passenger loads? I found LH far superior to AF!

. This plane had a Lufthansa callsign as I was listening on a scanner. Do Lufthansa use third party planes? The lighting was bad due to heavy cloud cover.
yes Lufthansa often use other airlines,
this particular 737 belongs to Privatair and is a long range low density club class aircraft, Lufthansa used to use it Frankfurt-New York

Some pics at 1 mile from the runway therefore the aircraft is at 300′. This plane had a Lufthansa callsign as I was listening on a scanner. Do Lufthansa use third party planes? The lighting was bad due to heavy cloud cover.

I used to fly into Liverpool (in the winter), arriving before daybreak, and off to a hotel in Manchester. Pickup was around 9 pm at night, but often we used to sit in the plane until the newspapers arrived at 1 or 2 in the morning. We weren’t allowed to use the APU so we usually froze our nuts off whilst waiting in the cockpit. From there it was a short hop to Dublin or Cork for another daystop. Too bad cameras hadn’t been invented then :dev2:

Great! Wish half of them would come to Manchester.. 😉

Air France, Lufthansa, Ethiopian, Royal Air Maroc, South African, I think Air France uses the 777. Never have the time to sit and wait for them though. Oh yes, until recently, a variety of Antonovs.
By: MANAIRPORTMAD - 8th October 2011 at 14:05
Oh that looks great! What’s the variety like there?

This is the sort of image I get without a zoom lens at 1 mile from the threshold… have yet to get a good shot of an airliner…

The airport is FOOL (LBV)
By: MANAIRPORTMAD - 8th October 2011 at 12:22
Yep, 300mm 🙂 Thank you! 🙂
