After suffering the wettest summer on record, I had a need for planes in the sun.
Searching the internet I found a very affordable ticket from Niederrhein to Larnaca with Ryanair.
(Ryanair call this airport Dusseldorf and it is actually the old RAF Lahrbruch)
Larnaca is not a very busy airport but it has visitors from middele east airlines that are still on my to do list.
Here is the catch from Friday afternoon sep 2nd
The guys that got me there in their office
Editted on a 10″ netbook so please forgive imperfections in editting.

Brilliant set of photos. Quality over quantity wins every time.

Final day on the beach, I’m heading home tomorrow. The end of a long weekend.
Today was Brits day, but I’ll spare you the Thomsons and Thomas Cooks.
To show that it is literaly on the beach
My highlight of the day, former G-TTIC

2nd afternoon on the beach. The sun is in the wrong place in the morning. You could drive around the whole airport
to shoot in the morning but there are limited movements in the morning so I did not bother to get a hire car.
What I am posting are not only the highlights but also a fair proportion of the movements. You get 20 to 30 planes
between 13.00 and 18.30.Including Cyprus Aw, Aegean, Olympic, Austrian, Aeroflot, Swiss, LH, Emirates and Etihad
There were 3 Aerosvit flights this afternoon, the first 2 were the mostly white 737’s, this one made up for that

I think you were lucky with the Syrian ATR-72. It is down on flightstats as an A320 for yesterday’s flight. It’s a great catch that one 🙂

Some very nice shots. Really nice to see the Syrian ATR and the Egyptair. Still prefer the old ‘blue tail’ Egyptair colours. My last visit to LCA was by a BA 707, stopping at LCA en route to Riyadh. I returned to LHR on a BA Tristar 500, which originated in Nairobi I think. That dates the trip!

Quality movements there. Syrian and Arkia ATRs and Jordanian Embraer – ooh tasty.
Larnaca is another airport on my to-do list. A week at MacKenzie Beach.
Did you get any more stuff ? How many days were you there ?
