Scott..keep a positive approach for your Mothers sake..having almost died earlier this year after a serious illness myself ..i know what you and your family must be going through..the surgery methods and medications these days are a lot more advanced than they were just ten years ago so i’m sure God willing your Mother will pull through

Not that I would ever take it as Gospel (that’s what (most) Doctor’s are for); but I’ve used this site frequently in the past: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000893.htm

Scott. Please make sure you speak to a doctor or a nurse looking after your mum about this. There will be people helping her through it who can speak to you. This sort of thing is best talked about face to face with a health professional who can give you proper information and reassurance.

Not sure if you have read this. Got it after a quick search on Google.

Source: Cancer Research UK
Stage 2 – the cancer has begun to spread around the neck of the womb
In this stage, the cancer has begun to spread outside the neck of the womb into the surrounding tissues. Stage 2 can be divided into
Stage 2A
Stage 2B
In stage 2A the cancer has not spread into the womb but may have spread down into the top of the vagina. In stage 2B there is spread up into the tissues around the cervix.

Stage 2A cervical cancer is treated with surgery or radiotherapy or both.

Stage 2B cervical cancer is usually treated with combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Research studies have shown that this combined treatment can improve the survival rates of stage 2 cervical cancer.

My advice would be not to ask for advice on a sensitive matter from a bunch of total strangers on an Internet forum.

Hope all goes well with your Mum.

Stay strong for your mum. Stage 2 is fairly advanced but treatable, try not to think about the D word stay positive. Best Wishes.

You need to speak to the doctors Scott, not an aviation forum. My auntie died 3 weeks ago after 36 hours notice, A very rare and extreme example, but you did ask…

Like most cancers, early diagnosis and treatment make all the difference and I wish you all the best.
