it was good…….but Churchill had to make a decision….if that fleet had fallen into German hands that would have been terrible for us and possibly a change in the outcome of the war. It was regrettable but hindsight is not something everyone is blessed with. The French head of the Navy later became Vichy PM….so could he really have been trusted?
