Guns and Roses, absolutely raw gutsy rock at its best, and the epitome of genius. Just a pity that Axel drove a wedge the size of a barn right through the band.
The new GNR? …no, not for me, GNR and the lineup from ‘Appetite’ was the high-light.

Out of the two I would pick GNR, but Bon Jovi were just as good in their own way. But then again Aerosmith to me are just as good.

Music is too personal to have favourites, And I am too big a fan of the Rolling Stones to put any other band above them…so there!
54 and still rocking!

Erm…

Put it this way…My brother in Law supported Bon Jovi at Bristol’s Ashton Gate stadium earlier this year. Was there right there at the front of the stage…watched the support act (naturally)…then went 10 minutes into the Bon Jovi gig when the Missus and me looked at each other and said; “Blimey, his teeth are too white”, and promptly left:diablo:

Well I suppose Nine Inch Nails are more our bag so too speak..!!

In all fairness, going by what I did see, Jovi still hold their own well, but as far as both Jovi and G&R are concerned…they’re probably both a bit past their sell by date:D Never really was into commercial 80’s rock music…

Regards;
Steve

I think GNR live concert is most electrifying to watch. Axl Rose never hold back his voice(even at the risk of damaging his vocal) and always give his best shot for any concert. His stage running capture yr attention. So as his hot pants! Haha..

Of cos I am talking abt the late 80’s and early 90’s GNR 😀

GnR.

Let alone Appetite… look at there songs such as Estranged, Coma, Locomotive etc. Top notch musicians…. can’t compare GnR to Jobi.

Iron Maiden

Two words: Aces High.

I’ll skip through Bon Jovi most days and GNR on occasion on my MP3 player, but NEVER through Aces High! :diablo:

20 years ago I’d walk to college with ‘Appetite For Destruction’ playing in my walkman. I never ever did the same with ‘Slippery When Wet’… 😉

IM are indeed better, and even though they are British (We produce the best rock…..erm, apart from maybe classic Springsteen before he sold out), they are actually producers of racket and din, with a rhythm.:diablo:

yea but its racket and din with a rhythm that sounds really good and their lead singers my favorite pilot:cool::D

Neither.

They’re both bobbins.

Mass-produced corporate ‘Rock-Lite’ for hormonal teenage girls of all ages and genders.

Well, you did ask. 😎

Correct.
US 80’s style rock, isn’t.

Guns ‘n’Roses all the way. Bon Jovi IMHO never did a better album than Slippery when wet. Saw them at Donnington and they held their own but they never grabbed me emotianly like G’N’R did.One of my all time favourite bands up their with AC/Dc Aerosmith and Rush that i still listen to.
[I guess i must still be a hormonal teenager.though not female]:p

I am pretty disgusted by someone wearing a t-shirt on stage with Charles Manson’s face on it. This is reason enough for me to NEVER buy a G’n’R’ album. I bet Axl Rose couldn’t give a hoot – but shall I tell you what! Neither could I:D

Depends what sort of “rock” music you want tolisten too doesn’t it?
Bon Jovi appears more commercial to the general populous than G ‘n’ R.
I have albums of each and depending on my mood would depend on who I’d listen to.

Just because they perform a track I want at my funeral – G ‘n’ R for me.

I have to say I prefer Guns N Roses, but only because I spent six months living with a flatmate obsessed (and I do mean that quite literally) with Bon Jovi. I played GNR just to drown her out! :diablo:

Come on.. Just choose one out of the two! It’s not that tough, right? 😀

I don’t really have a ‘favourite’ as such! I like more tracks by Bon Jovi than GNR but they’re both very good bands so on that basis there really isn’t a ‘better’ band for me.

Musicians are the worst people in the world to reply to questions such as this though!

Well… There is no ‘better’ because it’s all personal. I could say I prefer one over the other and explain the reasons why I think that, but it means absolutely nothing because the next guy may disagree totally. If you prefer GNR, great. If you prefer Bon Jovi, great. It doesn’t really matter!
