Austrian finally phased out the MD-80

Austrian has finally phased out their MD-80 with a farewell-party with MD-83 OE-LME “Krems” (build in 1993) standing in an hangar.

Austrian was the second costumer for the MD-80 after swissair and used the MD-81, MD-82, MD-83 and MD-87 for which Austrian together with Finnair became the launch costumer for the latter version).

The last MD-83 was used for charter flights with a seating capacity for 161 passengers.

So another chapter in the histopry of the MD-80 came to an end…
