Nice pictures in less than nice conditions! I take it I am wrong in assuming that if you taxi out on just one engine, as well as the pull to one side, you would have to run the one engine twice as high as you would otherwise to get the plane to move along at the same speed? I f this isn’t the case I am surprised more companies running A340/80s and 747’s don’t have a policy of taxiing out on just the inboards.

Re the ATR it must be Aer Arrann policy, as i shot one at GLA passing area J with only one running recently.
Could it possibly be to help try to save some fuel and to help keep noise to a minimum, perhaps?
