I watched Macca on TV doing his Liverpool concert on Sunday night, and love him or not, the encore launched into the ultimate Beatles/Lennon classic, ‘A Day in the Life’.
It cracked me up that he forgot his own lyrics in the middle 8 of the song, which was possibly forgiveable when he launched into ‘Give Peace a Chance’, however, whatever you think of the ‘Fab 4’, could this possibly be the only time this iconic song has ever been performed live in any shape or form, maybe Lennon did it in some of his concerts, I doubt it, but who knows.
It was interesting to see Yoko and Mrs Harrison clapping and singing along with some of the songs, all is forgiven I guess.

C’mon man, wer’e talking one of histories greatest songs here, I can remember all the lyrics, ok I’m not standing in front of a multitude of people and attempting to perform it
You’re right… You’re not standing in front of a multitude of people attempting to perform, and that’s precisely the reason your criticism makes no sense! You have no idea exactly how easy it is to make mistakes, whether the gig makes you nervous or not. I’ve played to 10,000 people and forgot notes in songs I’ve played lots of times. I’ve played to 3.5 million people on live TV and made mistakes in songs I’ve played lots of times. Even the world’s greatest make mistakes sometimes because as I say, musicians are only human.
Don’t you ever make mistakes? I’d love to say I never do but frankly, I’m just not that good. 🙂

Why did it crack you up? You’d be amazed at how many very serious bands have their own lyrics scrolling on autocue in front of them throughout the entire concert. Musicians are only Human. 🙂

I’ve always been a big fan of the Beatles..but for some reason i could never take to McCartney or Ringo as solo artists..Lennon and Harrison yes.. but i’m afraid the other two leave me cold
