Good news for Manston. Wonder if this will lead to more First Choice flights

First Choice do quite a few routes from here at DurhamTeesValley but it’s not very often we see an FCA aircraft 🙂 One came in for a school visit (or something like that) earlier this year, and we usually get one on the ski flight in the winter, but it was Britannia last winter (I went on it!)

I never thought it could be another operator with most of the seats and First Choice just taking a few spare ones. Now I come to think of it Transun did MSE Lapland flights last year I think

Oh well. Whatever happens good news for MSE. Plus this month they have World Airways Charters from the US/Toronto

First Choice dont tend to do Lapland flights from airport they dont have a regular schedule from (e.g. LBA, HUY) so that is why I think there could be more. And I am sure the Kent market could support a weekly PMI, TFS or DLM, especially as the latter two dont have any EU Jet competition

Winter season, Transun day trips are snapped up by the charter airlines who, with it been out of season, have a surplus of aircraft to fill. Whether they can find Transun (or alike) contracts, go off to the States and Canada, or do Hadj, its just work for the aircraft.

The transun contrtacts I have know have generally lead to an aircraft of MYT, AEU, FCA etc operating out of an airfiled doing differant destinations each day for maybe a few days or a weeks spell Monday Shopping in Salzberg, Tuesday Whale Watching in Norway, Weds Kids to meet Santa etc, however they also position in for one off day trips only.

FCA have done plenty from LBA, we have a weekly FAO anyway at LBA.

I just dont think a one off day trip, will result in loads of charter flights.

Hardly big news, LBA has loads of Lapland flights, doesn’t mean the airline is going to move in there. Its a one off.
