If only senior serving officers would stand up and say the same thing in the same united manner some real progress might be made. As it stands the government is able to hide behind empty statements from the MoD. However the fact that this was the first story on tonights BBC 10.00pm news is impressive.

It would be even better if they said it whilst in office, perhaps the government might take some notice then. Having said that I doubt they’ll change. By the time they reach that position they’re too worried that something they say will cost them their knighthood.
