I learnt to drive on a then brand new Fergie 35 it was brilliant! because you could see the steering mechanism working as you turned etc, ,plus the huge rear tyres with water ballasting they were intereseting to work on as you had to split in in half to change the clutch ! incidentally the chap owned it for twenty seven years, never touched the engine other than oil and filter changed etc, it certainly had some hours on when he sold it ,and it still had its original exhaust system, british engineering at its best!(tractors have hour meters,or did have then:cool: 😎 😎 )

I’m more a Fordson man as well – learnt on a Fordson Super Dexta! At 12 y.o., I could run through the gearbox, 1st to top (involving hi-lo transfers) and make it sound like normal vehicle accelerating through the gears.
Can’t do that on our current 1939 Allis Chalmers!

Well, the HQ is in Coventry but are they made there? They certainly have a world wide presence now.

Indeed a truly great machine. IIRC Massey Ferguson no longer has a UK factory.:(
