Glad for the information, you can see the looks from the crew as I get on the ‘Shuttle’ clutching a paint splattered step ladder :dev2:
I will let you know when I fly up!

Aiuk you will be able to shoot through the fence and also there is some holes that are in the fence that will enable you to shoot aswell, may i suggest that you dont use ladders security is a bit funny about people using ladders, especially after the attack on the airport, to be honest there is no need for ladders i have the 150-500mm lens and the holes that are there they are ok for my lens, hope this helps you out, let me know nearer the time and i can arrange to try and get over would be nice to put a face to the name.

Maybe Rab, we’re going the same way as Peru – two seasons. It rains for 6 months then stops raining for 6 months lol. Will I be able to shoot over or through the fence without the use of a step ladder and is ‘The Mound’ easy to locate when you get to the Loganair hanger. Thanks for answering all my questions :diablo:

Thanks Rab,
I will fly up and have a walk around in the Spring I think. I found the Loganair hanger on Google Maps, but couldn’t locate where to find ‘the mound’ – it could be one of several places! Is the location at the opposite end of the runway good for taking photos – or is there a many restrictions such as fences and pillars?
Thanks for all your help and kind offer, it’s very much appreciated 🙂

With any luck we may run into the same or other WPCs
thanks for the comments guys mucho appreciato, aiuk as scotty say’s try those sites if you have no luck let me know when you are comming and if i have the day off work i will no doubt be over at the airport so if you want i will take you to the spots that we use if you want.
With any luck you may run into the same or other WPCs. Don’t forget your ‘big lens’ just in case.
Glasgow Abbots-inch Airport (not obviously in the same league as ‘Big Lens’ – Abbot‘s Inch get my drift ) is only a little over an hour away via the M8 from Edinburgh, so may take you up on this after final exams.

The main places to shoot are either at the west side near loganair hangar, most popular place though,is along Inchinnan road at the GAT. All are within walking distance from the terminal.

Cracking shots there Rab! Really like the light on the Thomson Airways 🙂
I am hoping to come to GLA soon, and I recall there was a website with all the spotting/photography locations. However, I can’t seem to see it now. Can you point me to some good spots, bearing in mind I’ll be without a car?
Many thanks in advance 🙂
Happy New Year!

Really great shots. The rear-end shot of the ATR is a good one!
