A dangerous environment for flying ops….

I couldn’t decide in which forum this was going to fit, so here I am.

Found these two videos about flying operations in Angola. A Moldavian crew of an An-32 filmed some take-offs, landings and turnarounds at Angolan Airstrips. Notice the wrecked aircraft littering the thresholds and edges of the dirt runways. And those ‘soldiers’ firing their guns into the air for some reason. I found watching these videos an alienating experience, as it is so far away from what we consider as safe ops here. I guess the health and safety department is a tad underdeveloped over there. And nobody is wearing the bright yellow safety tabbard… 😎
