Well after what 2 years on the route? Flyjem are transferring their flights to rival Euromanx. A sad demise, to think the future was bright for them from Liverpool. The end of Β£38 returns to IOM then, pity i didnt catch one earlier π
Taken off a Isle of Man news site :-
EMERALD Airways has pulled out of the Liverpool route and handed it over to competitor EuroManx.
But the jobs of eight Island-based Emerald staff are not under threat and EuroManx has pledged to preserve services on the route. The Isle of Man-based airline will offer up to 10 flights a day between Ronaldsway Airport and Liverpool.
EuroManx’s managing director Warren Seymour said: ‘We have been in discussions with Emerald Airways and have concluded that the way forward for both companies is to combine our strengths to ensure the stability of the route while enabling short notice capacity and frequency increases to satisfy consumer demand.
‘We are also committed to offering passengers excellent value for money fares and we will continue to do so on the route. We are going to be dynamic with capacity and dynamic with fare levels.’
The two airlines have joined forces because the number of passengers could not sustain two operators.
Emerald will now concentrate on its Liverpool based freight business.
No jobs will be lost as EuroManx will take on all Emerald staff and its two 68-seat planes, which will be painted in Euromanx’s colours.
Emerald chief executive Mick O’Brien said: ‘We have been serving the air freight needs of the local community since our incorporation in 1992 and we are delighted that our involvement with the passenger route over the last year or so since the withdrawal of BA CitiExpress has contributed, along with EuroManx, in re-establishing the volume of passengers, lower fares and frequency of flights on this life-line route. We believe these improvements will be better sustained by one operator and look forward to supporting EuroManx with this task.’
Emerald tickets will be honoured by EuroManx
Their site is still up, but all the links are dead, just like their pax ops π
And yet another different aircraft in the EMX fleet, good to see the ATP still flying passengers to its spiritual home, IOM π

In other words, flyjem are giving up and Euromanx will be the only operator :diablo:
Euromanx will be the only booking agent – Emerald will be the only operator! :dev2:

FlyJem are wetleasing the aircraft to Euromanx. All flight bookings will made through Euromanx. Flights will still be flown, and crewed by Emerald Airways on a long term wetlease. It is, in the end better for both companies.

This is been interpreted incorrectly.

For euromanx, they have lost the competition on flights, wheras Emerald will be flying the aircraft and getting paid set rates per sector. This has allowed them to aquire a further passenger example, giving an extra aircraft to operate sub and ad hoc charter services. One aircraft (presumably the new one) will be painted in Euromanx colours.
Below is the official press release and not the tripe that has been floating around!
Euromanx & Emerald Airways Joint Press Release
LIVERPOOL β ISLE OF MAN ROUTE
EuroManx Airways, the Isle of Man based airline, is delighted to announce that after discussions with the Management of Emerald Airways Limited, we will be combining both our companies skills and resources to offer ten flights a day between the Isle of Man and Liverpool. The introduction of Emerald Airways on the route and the associated additional capacity and frequency has resulted in considerable growth. However, given the current level of existing capacity on the route both companies believed it time to discuss and agree a way of working together to bring stability and strength to the route without detracting from the benefits the consumer has enjoyed over the last 12 months or so. We have reached an agreement whereby this route, from 13th June, will now be operated by EuroManx Airways who will maintain the capacity at peak times and its fares at its current levels.
Warren Seymour, Managing Director for EuroManx stated, “We have been in discussions with Emerald Airways and have concluded that the way forward for both companies is to combine our strengths to ensure the stability of the route while enabling short notice capacity and frequency increases to satisfy customer demand. It is important that we maintain this vital economic link to the Northwest from the Island and to that extent we will be basing an aircraft and crew in Liverpool. We will continue to provide the frequency of flights from Liverpool with early departures each day to the Island. As part of our agreement we will also be wet leasing an aircraft and crew from Emerald to operate routes on behalf of EuroManx Airways. We are also committed to offering passengers excellent value-for-money fares, and will continue to do so on the route. I would also like to thank the management at Emerald who have contributed so much to the growth of the route and we look forward to working closely with them in the future.”
Mick OβBrien, Chief Executive Officer for Emerald Airways stated, βWe have been serving the air freight needs of the local community since our incorporation in 1992 and we are delighted that our involvement with the passenger route over the last year or so, since the withdrawal of BA CitiExpress, has contributed, along with EuroManx, in re-establishing the volume of passengers, lower fares and frequency of flights on this life-line route. We believe these improvements will be better sustained by one operator and look forward to supporting EuroManx with this task.β
Existing passengers who have booked with Emerald and received confirmation of their bookings will be accommodated on EuroManx services. Emerald Airways will contact passengers in due course to advise them of the flights they are travelling on with EuroManx. For further enquiries please contact Emerald Airways on 08708 505 400.
EuroManx flights can be booked online at www.euromanx.com or by phone on 0870 787 787 9.
