1) I’m getting a lot of tax dedeucted on a weekly basis right now, about £40 more than anyone else. Apparently it’s emergency tax. What that means I don’t know, but someone did mention that I should be able to ge them back. Anyone know how much I’ll be able to get back? I’ve got my wageslips if they’re needed.
2) I’m still on a 60-day white pass. Can’t get the blue pass jsut yet as he referencing agency take far too long. However, that same person also said the payments get backdated or something, so you get them back? Is this true?

I work for them and am recieving no problems…
and yes you do get emergency tax when you first start (at any job) – and yes you do get it all back eventually which is back-dated.
Which airport do you work at mate? (reply private if you wish).

You get an emergency tax number when you start a new job if you cannot produce an old tax number or there has been a gap in employment. This number will typically be a few points above what it should be. This is to make sure the IRS receives their pound of flesh. You will get the refund when your regular number is allocated.
