House of Lords Reform

This is a petition against the proposed Lords reform. I believe that the reform will simply create a new house of professional politicians, who are all forced to tow the party line anyway, and will remove a vital forum of highly knowledgeable experts in all fields with a liftime of experience. An unelected house means that they owe no party any loyalty and may vote only for what they think is best.

Furthermore, I believe that the only reason this reform is an issue is because the current administration wishes to distance itself from the incriminating cash for honors affair, to divert public attention and to minimize the damage to the Labour party. Anyone agree?
