Have had 4 trips in total to Germany, first in 69 to Laarburch as an Air Cadet, then in 82 working at Bremen, 83 at Hamburg and 2 years ago I spent Easter at Lemgo with the brass band my wife, son and daughter play with.
Have aways found the country to be most excellent and would be very happy to move there should the chance ever be given to me.

To get it back on track to commercial…..thanks for the good wishes! π
I’m going out to do a 7month internship as part of my University with MTU Maintenance working with commercial aircraft engines (mostly A320 family). Going to be a great experience for my future career path. But yes, just hoping I find these English speaking folk fast!
My mistake on the state… Hannover is actually just inside Niedersachsen, about 30 minutes from where I was born! I’ll give you some tips over PM π

On top of that, for most areas of NRW you can receive BFBS radio.
Perhaps we should move the thread to general discussion?

Not if you mean Expatica Germany!:)
I meant “Auf Wiedersehen Net”
Was a brilliant site, got lots of info about my old schools there. I mourn its loss π

Wonderful π
Still plenty of Brits there, you’ll find friends quickly. There was until recently a website for Brits in Germany to chat and link up… sadly its gone offline.

I’m actually moving to Germany on Wednesday. Due to start work out at Hannover airport on the 2nd (?!) of Jan.
Wonderful π
Nordrhein Westfallen is a lovely state in Germany. I spent the first half of my life there, following my Dad from posting to posting when he was in the Army. Great Folk.
As a matter of fact, I spent the first 3 years of the 90s a stones throw from Hannover π
Still plenty of Brits there, a whole microcosm infact! Something most people are totaly unaware of. I’m sure you’ll find british friends quickly. There was until recently a website for Brits in Germany to chat and link up… sadly its gone offline.

From the Netherlands myself. Originally came from Zelhem which is a stone throw away from Emmerich (Kreis Kleve) in Nordrhein Westfalen.

No cream near me except in the supermarket! Closest is Karlsruhe Baden (thankyou Ryanair!) where I recently discovered that Concorde, a 747 and a Saudi 1011 had landed, once upon a time.:)
