Don use any anti-virus they are themselves a virus. :diablo:

anyways u can try Quickheal damn good.I have used it for 3 months.

Quickheal Protection

Then there is AVG/Avast however AVG has issues with some firewalls and sometimes fails to perform.

I’d recommend a mix of quickheal/Ad Aware/Anti-spyware/Zonealarm for a home pc user.

If you want to know more you can check article written by me on security for home users.

Free? Do you mean the updates and not the program itself? I have to register and pay in order to download it from www.download-avast.com .

You want Avast Home Edition. This is free, with free updates although you do have to register. I have been using it for a couple of years with no problems. Try this link: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

If you are going for paid, atleast dont go for Norton. AVG free is better than Norton…My experience with both is for 5-6 years, I have had tried many, and Norton is the worst.

Having tried the usual “pay” suspects (Norton, Trend Micro, etc.) I agree 100% and thoroughly recommend Avast. It ripped archived trojans out of my system the others couldn’t touch and appears after nearly 3 months use to be really good. For one thing it doesn’t ‘eff with my system … just keeps the bad guys at bay. And it’s free! Good stuff.

AVG REMAINS FREE!!!

Look carefully on the AVG web site and select the lastest version(7.5) which is still free… At first glance it DOES look as though one will have to subscribe…but it is not so!!.. Best wishes D.J.

Always free, the new version 7.5 seems stable.

You can upgrade to the newer version of AVG, it’s still free.

You can run AVG free of cost as well. Otherwise try AVAST – it’s one of the best free anti-virus programs out there.
