Hi all,
It’s been a while since I posted any photos here so I thought I’d share a few from last month when I went down to Bristol to spend 5 days with the geek that is Adam Spalding (sorry mate, I mean overly obsessed!) It was pretty chilly but we couldn’t have asked for better light on this brief visit to Adam’s local. I was particularly happy to get the Continental as it is now no more.
All taken with a Canon 40D and Sigma 50-500. Even though I’ve reduced the file sizes quite a lot Photobucket still seems to have compressed them, so they’re not quite as high quality as I’d like. Full fat versions available on JP and A.Net (how’s that for a shameless self-plug?) 😀

Thanks for a great 5 days mate, it was good to finally experience Brizzle orange properly!
Thanks for looking. 🙂

Great shots paul i use photobucket and i dont get any compression, also i use the sigma 150-500mm os i also used the 50-500mm a few year ago i have to say that i like the 150-500mm OS version it is a bit weighty but think that is because i was used too the 70-300mm.
Agian well caught

Sure, I more meant in terms of actual image quality rather than construction. There seems to have been a trend recently of even basic lenses improving in quality (the EF-S 18-55 IS update being a perfect example), so it will be interesting to see how much different the new Bigma is. It’s now more expensive than the Canon 100-400L so I’d expect to see some optical improvements, not that the old version is bad!

Ok thanks.
The newer one just an upgraded version. A little newer, has some more lens ellements and like you said the OS.

Thanks! These were all taken with a very hammered older 50-500 I bought new in June (I think), 2006. I’m not sure how different the new OS version is optically from this one!
