I have Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and a while back I seen in an episode of Airline or Airport a chap who has the same condition being allowed to use his CPAP machine aboard his flight.
Having looked at a website about OSA they say that British Airways accept the use of a CPAP machine but others DO NOT.
So after having checked on the British Airways website I got the following information “British Airways do have power sockets installed in their longhaul World Traveller Plus, Club World and FIRST cabins only” so what happens to the poor guy in economy who has OSA and can’t afford to go World Traveller Plus, Club World and FIRST?
Can anyone here who has had or got please tell me if they’ve ever had any problems with having the use of their CPAP machine aboard an aircraft or which airlines allow the use of a CPAP machine in flight?
Thanks

I do not have the condition but I do sympathise with you. Are there not CPAP machines with their own on board power supply? Whilw working as a nurse I seem to remember transferring patients with CPAP machines which required no external power.
For those who are confused, CPAP is a machine delivering a constant positive airways pressure to assist those who, in some cases, have a tendency to stop breathing while asleep.
