Laptop problem

Hey guys,

I am looking for help on a slight technical problem with my new laptop. Last night it was running as normal but today, when you switch it on, the screen just comes up blank, it’s as if the screen has not switched on. There is also no way of switching it off unless you run the battery down! Any help much appriciated.

Regards

AJ

I just had almost the exact same problem. Take out the battery pack, and take out the RAM chip(s). Put them back in, and see if it works. If moving the RAM chip(s) seems like it fixes the problem, then you need to probably get a new RAM chip.

Stupid question, but did you play with the brightness control of tour screen (probably the function key + one of the “F” keys, or somethink like that).

Is an external screen working better ?

If you can’t set it brighter that way, the backlighting on your screen is likely to be defective … Take it back to the store

I had a recurrent fault identical with that of EGPH.
Without any technical justification whatsoever ( just bl**dy annoyed) I pulled out the battery pack for a second whilst it was mains connected, then clicked it back in again. Hey presto! It woke up and subsequently initiated every time since with this treatment until it was stolen -thus ending my involvement with the situation and providing a South African solution to the problem.

Tried that doesn’t help this time

This thread is CURSED!!!! My PC restarted just after I replied.

I’d try everything again, then as Ren Frew says return it for another or get a refund.
