Urgent eBay help needed.

Okay, I sold a phone to someone on eBay, and I listed it as being sent with Royal Mail Recorded. Now he expected to get the tracking number, but I thought my mum sent it standard so I couldn’t give him the number, but she told me a few days ago it was sent recorded.

The buyer claimed for a refund and the money was withdrawn from my account.

But of course it was sent recorded, and I could see that they also signed it, yet they’re denying it.

As for Paypal, I didn’t respond within 10 days (none of the resolutions applied for me) so I think the buyer has got the money AND phone.

I just got an email from them saying that the phone is faulty, but it’s brand new so it can’t be! Yet another lie. They are saying they will send the phone back if I give them a refund, but they’ve already got it.

I’m thinking of getting the Police involved, reporting theft and fraud.

Could anyone help me in what else I could do? 😡

The E-Bay ‘Answer’ section under Community will give you an answer to any problem you can think of, very useful.

Thanks for advice guys.

Paypal have responded and apparently they are still reviewing the case. That buyer is definitely getting a negative feedback.

If that doesn’t work get all your emails between you and the buyer along with the post office documents and get yourself down to the local nick. I would also try contact the buyer again and state what you intend to do. If all that fails i would suggest you take legal advice. Most solicitors offer a free half hour consultation. Im sure it will get resolved ,as from what you say this person has not got a leg to stand on.

Can you phone the sold phones number ,thus proving that the sold phone appears to be working ok.

Ok, sit tight and see what Paypal & eBay come up with, generally the first response of eBay is to tell you to try to resolve this personally, it may be worth emailing ebay back telling them you cannot contact this person direct and that they need to intervene

I’ve contacted both eBay and Paypal, no response yet.

The person just does not communicate. All they can think about is “send me refund” and they lie a lot as well, badly.

Irfan

First thing first is to contact ebay and explain the situation to them, what I don’t understand is how can they reverse the decision to pay you through paypal? once they have paid it is instant and they can’t touch it (generally), get in contact with paypal as well, because if they have withdrawn payment then a statement from them specifying this will back up your case, make sure you document everything, if you have posted it recorded delivery you should have a signiture from the Royal Mail as well, you will need this as evidence, next thing to do is try talking to the person involved, generally there is a civil way to sort things like this out, if he flatly refuses to discuss this with you then document this also, just make sure you keep a record of everything. If paypal confirms he “has his money back” then he really hasn’t got a leg to stand on.
Get on to Ebay & Paypal a.s.a.p, do not delay

Well dont worry you will get you phone back. But i think they can send you back the phone if it is not working or faulty. try to contact Ebay they can solve the problm better. remember to include your mail track number wheny ou contact them.
