Good old British weather!

I love a good thunderstorm! Can’t remember the last time we had one here in London.When I’m at home,I change into a t-shirt,shorts and flip-flops and stand outside in the rain,listening to that amazing,natural,ground-shaking sound.As regard to the present heat-wave………bring it on! Maybe it helps that I sleep during the day and work at night 😉 Those nice cool breezes between 11pm and 4am are amazing 😎

When I was in Cyprus with the UN force in Nicosia a few of us actually went outside in thunderstorms deliberately just to cool off. It would rain cats and dogs for 10-15 minutes and then it was all oover for another 24 hours. If you stayed outside for half an hour you were dry again.

Well we all know the last week has been sweltering, all hot and sticky and I’m sure most of us had the BBQ out as we did but this morning at about 5/6am I was awoken by the sound of violent thunder. Low and behold there was a thunderstorm approaching and it rained quite heavily for a period and with the lightning it was quite a show!

Now it’s near midday, it’s sunny and quite hot again with a light breeze and is rather pleasant. One of the things you just have to love about this country yes?! 😎

Well the temperatures I’m talking about the current temperatures over here and I believe they are quite impressive for over here and we’re all loving it! I’m well aware your over in Oz and will now have a different opinion of what is hot and what isn’t….
