A question for the Moderators….

I’ve found an image I would like to post on Historic. I’ve found it on the internet but can’t find who the photographer is to credit it. No idea who owns the copyright because it doesn’t appear to be asserted on the website.

Now, not wishing to break clause 4 of the Code of Conduct, can I…..

1. Post the image completely devoid of any accreditation?

2. Post the image and credit the website I took it from?

3. Not post the image at all?

Be grateful for a clarification.

That sounds right to me. You’re crediting where it came from. If the guy who posted the image on his site doesn’t own it or have the permission to use it, then it’s his anus, not yours!
