My DVD has worked fine for a couple of years but yesterday when I tried to play a rented DVD there was picture but no sound. I tried an older DVD and I got picture but no sound. I checked all the cables and repluged everything in. I even messed around with the sound settings and still nothing. I am hoping the audio cables went bad and not the player. Is there anything I am missing??

Don’t think Asda is in the USA.
If you wanna go “cheap” look in Wallmart or PigglyWiggly.
ASDA and Walmart are the same company nowadays, some UK stores trading with the ASDA-Walmart name over the door.

It’s normally a scart lead issue, with the scart lead needing pushed all the way home. I don’t think you use scarts in the USA however ?
It could be an audio issue such as playing in 5:1 mode with dvd’s only having a simple stereo recording. If it’s a hardware issue, then as suggested buy a cheap Walmart one, you can probably get two for the price of service estimate these days ?
