Well in case of the 99 eclipes i was on my way to a hilly resort with a friend on motor bike. The road was all foggy and you can assume wht the situation would be like when all a sudden in the middle of the day everything goes foggy and dark. It scared the $*#! out of me. As for this time well my side of the world was already dark by the time the event begain to unfold. Talk about hard luck.

I was in Cornwal to in 99. I was on top of the cliff in Looe looking out towards the island. Despite it being cloudy it was a great vantage point as you could see a line coming across the sea of which the far side was dark. It quite spooky. There were only six of us on the cliff and it was quite impressive looking down over the town of Looe seeing all the camera flashes.

Well me and a few other members of my family made the trip down to Cornwall to see the 1999 solar eclipse, a few days up to the event the weather was very up as some days were sunny and clear but when it came to the big day the typical english weather clouded over for us and ruined what is in effect a once in a lifetime experiance to view a solar eclipse from the UK.
Still it’s quite amazing to watch it go dark at midday, still an experiance I’ll never forget.
