I hope this thread doesnt come across as racist ,but my eldest sons school has presented a school play that they described as ,none religious ,as not to offend the other religious groups in our community who have children at the school.I find this a sad state of afaires ,as kids of all ages find Christmas a magical time of year and to deprive them of the story behind the meaning of Christmas seems odd.I can perfectly understand the school asking Muslim parents permission to let their kids join in the carol service and to their credit not one excluded a child.I hope that our forumit friends from other religious groups or countries would shed some light on whether this is PC gone awry or perfectly acceptable.
All this from a confused half Jewish protestant from catholic grandparentage terminally bewildered to what all the fuss is about. 🙂

It is horrendous. How can you have a nativity play which is, by its very nature, about Jesus’s birth and not mention a religious aspect to it? Surely it ceases then to be a nativity.
The other bit that gets me is that the other religions/beliefs that people think they are not offending really don’t appear to mind and by taking actions like this these so called do gooders are actually making the prejudice worse.
As for the video camera business don’t get me started. Paedophillia is not new and what makes the powers that be not think that such things have been going on before? It makes my blood boil at the stupidity of the “authorities” and their so called protective steps. Utter CR@P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bl00dy PC crowd need to be put against a wall and shot. (except probably a waste of good bullets!)

My friend borrowed a video camera to film her daughter’s play. Only to be told the school had banned such parental activity in case the footage ended up being used in an inappropriate manner.
