A small, friendly, local flying club allowed me to photograph the ‘goings on’ for an hour this afternoon, hope you enjoy this selection ?

Brings back memories of Kidlington when I was a lad. In those days it was quiet during the week and busy at weekends, now it’s busy-ish on weekdays and pretty quiet apart from a few locally owned aircraft and a few visitors at weekends. One guy turns up only at weekends and takes off for 2 touch and goes and one proper landing and then he won’t be seen until the next weekend and he always turns up an hour before the airport closes or last light whichever is earlier. I can’t imagine that is doing any favours to his engine or keeping him current but there you are, it takes all sorts to make a world I guess.

Gooney Bird. Wow ! how spooky is that ! of the few aircraft at this small field, your family has connections with two of them ?
Bristol Rob. No you can’t dunk an EZY in the midst of this historic site !!!! there will be a few more EZY 737’s (end of lease maint.) two miles up the road at NWI soon when we get it dusted off 😀
Newforest. Well spotted ! there were a few newer thingys there but photos of those are for other forum ? main reason for trip was looking for an aircraft with a strong connection to Spike Milligan 😉
Thank you all for looking.
Keith.

Some nice ones there and very nostalgic!
My father worked on the Hornet Moth when it was owned by the Cardiff Aeroplane Club at Pengam Moors in 1954.
I use to fly the Auster, G-AIBR, when it was owned by the Brooklands Flying Club at Sywell in the mid-1960’s.
It is good to see they are both going strong!
