U.S. airbases in Pakistan?

A journalist who appears regularly in the opinion pages of our local newspaper, claims that the U.S. is “developing three major air bases in Pakistan and others across Central Asia, to support its plans to dominate the region’s oil supplies”.

Does anyone from Pakistan or the region have any actual details or evidence that this is true? He actually does travel in the region but personally I think he is wrong but…..

the US has a presence in Manas air base in Kyrgyzstan and Termez in Uzbekistan, but the gov’ts there seem intent on ending the presence of US forces there. Furthermore, if they are developing major airbases there, you can be sure the Russians will make big headlines about it. Most of the Central Asian countries tend to play neutral rather than be pro anybody.
