What a Joke…

The tui livery has been growing on me recently, not when it looks like this!

I know how it feels to have something hitting the windscreen like that. We were driving up the M11 behind a lorry loaded with wood, when all of a sudden a big bit of wood about 2′ long and 5 or 6 inches wide come flying off the back, twisting through the air. We could see it coming right at us, and sped up hoping we’d get underneath it. Didn’t work, and it hit the windscreen smashing it to peices. Had to spend a good hour in the hard shoulder recovering from the shock.

People throwing bricks off of motorway bridges is definitely not something to take lightly.

During June and July there is a section of motorway in Belfast which is about 1 mile long and has walls 10-15 metres high (they vary) and daily kids can been seen throwing bricks of cars. Luckily there is good CCTV and the police catch them 80% of the time. It has caused some nasty accidents as drivers just go into shock alot of the time and dont control the car especially if it is a direct wind screen hit! The fact that the central reservation is concrete and so are the 15m high walls means if you loose control there is a good chance you wont remain alive.

Forgot to mention, my dad was shot at on a motorway, as a driving instructor with a newly qualified driver, not the sort of thing you want!

He said there was an horrendous bang, luckily only cause a small black circle in the corner of the windscreen.

Why people do this sort of thing, Ive no idea….

My dad drives a lorry and it’s happened to him. He suffered severe cuts to his forehead and was very lucky to be able to keep control of the 50 tonner he was driving. Fools like this deserve a public stoning. See how they like it.

Definitely the behavaviour of these people.
However, I find it pathetic that they were 12 year old kids!

And would it be any less pathetic if they were a different age? I think it’s pathetic that anyone would be doing it, it’s more shocking that 12 year olds are doing it.

Unfortunately can be a regular occurence in N.Ireland, on emergency services, particularly ambulance crews.

What are you trying to say is pathetic?

Bradford City’s claims, or the behaviour of these people?

People throwing bricks off of motorway bridges is definitely not something to take lightly. I remember a few years back, a story of some yobs who had dropped a brick off a motorway bridge. It managed to hit the rear windscreen of a passing hatchback car, shattering onto and killing a baby in the rear seat.

Bloody chavs….

I travelled to Rotherham yesterday to watch the Bantams, I always fear this sort of thing could happen on a train, happened once when I was on a train from Leeds to Bradford, thank god the glass is shatterproof, my mate would have been blinded if not.

It’s not that bad but the old Corsair livery was much better IMHO.

Kinda lowers the ‘Queen of the skies’, graceful image of the B747 when you see it dressed up like that… 😉

Well, perhaps they were going for that “Drag-Queen of the skies” look… 🙂

Oh no not another fly livery. TUI are gradually killing all their well known charter brands (although at least Corsair & Hapag Lloyd got to keep part of their original names unlike Britannia).

I’m getting used to the TUI scheme, although I still don’t like it. What I don’t get is the obsession with putting the word ‘fly’ after everything. Corsair isn’t a bad name, but Corsairfly sounds rediculous.

I’m not a fan at all of the TUI colour schemes and always hated the Britannia/Thomson colours because it was so cluttered. There was the big text, a Union Jack, more text here and bits of text there. It looks ridiculous.

I must admit, this looks good though!

I suppose we just ought to be grateful that Court Line aren’t still with us.

I shudder to think what sort of livery they’d be desecrating their aircraft with these days! 😮

A job for Sandy, perhaps……….. 😉

Titles are quite big aren’t they?

Yes and the paint below the ‘F’ is weird, the blue line goes up to join to the ‘F’.
