Kylie

Is she really as ill as the tabloids allege? What do you think?

(ok, it’s been a bad day at work, it’s pouring with rain outside, and the present Mrs ZHR is in a foul mood at home and I need some intellectual debate, or something)

Sorry to hear about your sister in law, Steve. That was what did for my mum some years back. I hate cancer. 🙁

A nasty business, let’s hope the kid beats it. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer about three years ago and after lots of chemo was given the all clear, unfortunately she has just been told it has come back in the liver this time

I must admit that I think things are probably not that good although the red-tops have made a bit of a meal of their reporting in the past. I get a bit worried when I read that the doctors had advised her not to go to the breast cancer event the other week. I’ve seen the ‘carefully posed’ paparazzi photos of her in Paris last month and I have to say that she didn’t look that good in all honesty.

My son went through chemo and radiotherapy at a very young age and (touch wood) it seems to have worked but it wasn’t a pleasant experience for him or Mrs ZHR and myself.

Oh well, I fear the worst for Kylie but hope for the best. Of course if I said that over on the Kylie boards I frequent they would be down on me like a ton of bricks.

Sadly, I think she is probably as ill as some people expect. I doubt the media would wish to spread despondency in this case were it not the case.

I sincerely hope I am wrong.

I doubt they’d hype it up, and i have no doubt she is brave. If you ask me, the media coverage is a good thing, hopefully it will mean more people donate to cancer charities and help cure this disease soon

My guess is, sadly, yes. Chemo after Breast Cancer, whilst not unusual isnt the preferred treatment.

Usually if the Tumour hasnt spread a course of Radiotherapy is given, this is to get at anything that may have been missed by the operation.

Chemo is only used if really necessary.

For the record, I am not a medical man, but I held Mums hand through a 5 year fight against breast cancer. Sadly, it won in the end.
