I’m wondering if its Turkey’s realising Christmas is coming soon and that they won’t be seeing it, So they came up with bird flu to scare us off eating them, Surely its no coincidence that it appears only a couple of months before Christmas :p .
Seriously though i think the Newspapers are over hyping the risk just like they do with everything, Yes there is a risk and potentially it could kill a lot of people but in the last year we have had huge natural disasters killing people in numbers that are beyond belief, The world feels a more dangerous place recently and you don’t know whats round the corner, Hell i say “Live life for today”.
Remember “Live everyday as if its your last,Because oneday you will be right” 😀

Exactly, it feels as if the asian tsunami was only last week, hasn’t this year gone quick.

They have discovered, according to the report, that the worst flu epedemic in 1918 which killed millions was caused by the bird flu. 😉

How many people die each year because of normal flu though?
How many have died because of bird flu?
Yes I think it is possibly something to worry about but people do die of normal flu year in year out. I’m not going to panic yet (if at all).

The effects are being hyped,but the issue is not.It’s potentially very serious now that it’s moving across Europe.After foot & mouth & BSE,it can be very damaging to European & British farming.Some people are already not eating Chicken & it hasn’t even reached Britain!

I reckon it’s hyped up, i won’t start panicking until it hits the shores of britain and people are dying. Then again, if/when that does happen, chances are you’ll see me running around screaming

Apparently they have a vaccine for it, lets hope they use it this time, (unlike Foot and Mouth when we couldn’t use it cos we would lose our F&M free status!… scuse me 1700 cases of F&M and we are classed as F&M free???????)

I haven’t really been following the news that much recently so what’s all this about bird flu? Seems rather un-nerving to me!!! I hope that the press is adding a lot of crap to it because otherwise we could end up in the bird crap. 😀

I hear the disease has reached as far as Greece now.Personally, I’m glad the UK and European governments are taking it seriously, but the way the media portrays the future is a little scary. Then again, they do hype anything.
