Personal Update: I just called Islamabad. Phone lines appear to be not working and so people have to rely on cell-phones. According to my mother, the house shook violently and the tremors continued for quite some time afterwards. My father was outside the house and according to him, the trees were shaking as though there was a thunderstorm and yet the air was calm. It appears that our neighborhood and the surrounding farmlands didn’t sustain a whole lot of damage.

Its a shame that it takes a terrible event such as this for people to burry their differences and help one another. I wonder what this menas for future pakistan-india relations?
Nothing much. Killings go on, given that IA is busy elsewhere.

It’s been reported that India will provide aid to Pakistan.
It is good to know about. Good neighbour always helps in need. It is sad what so many people have died.. 🙁

I wonder if India and Pakistan will send aid to assist each other, like Turkey and Greece did with their earthquakes.
