I popped out to Heathrow yesterday for the first time in nearly a year. A bit cloudy and they switched to easterlies just as I was arriving for the 15:00 switchover, but this is what I managed:

Thanks guys. I thought that Flightradar 24 had a glitch, when I saw the type given as an A346.

MSR777, the IB A340 is used as a “gap-filler” in between its long-haul flights…so it flies overnight back to Madrid, then does a return LHR trip, and then departs MAD again to do another long-haul sector.
I believe BA do the same with some of the B747/777 fleet as they often operate them on short-haul routes such as to Cairo!

Some nice shots. I especially like the Jordanian. I can’t believe that Kuwait is still using the A300-600, on what I thought was a ‘prestige’ route. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a great Airbus fan, and it’s good to see one still in frontline service. What is the story behind Iberia using a 340-600 into LHR?

Afraid not. I only stayed for a couple of hours and this was the only stuff really worth shooting, aside from the ones which I binned because the lighting was just that bad!
