Bishop backs panty parties

Read this in The Daily Telegraph today!!
Evanglelism and erotic underwear are rarely linked. But a new book backed by a Church of England bishop urges Christians to spread the message to their friends and neighbours by hosting lingerie parties.
The book, Open the Door argues that in an age when more people know their zodiac signs than the Ten Commanments, Christians have to use unconventional methods to reverse the decline in churchgoing. 😀

What are your thoughts??? Lol 😀 😀 Anna :diablo:

Moves in mysterious ways!! Just read another article by th Rt Rev Dave Gillett, this is the modern version of the Tupperware party and they are a natural way for women to meet. They can lead to a discussion of themes such as Adam and Eve! 😀 😀 Lol and you say I am Mad. 😀 😀 😀 Anna

That’s not mad that is an extension of the exploration of his and their beliefs. How often have you started a conversation on point and ended up at another topid utterly removed from th starting point? (A bit like some of these threads..)

Have you been on the sauce Gary!! Lol Topid 😀 😀 😉 Never Stray off topic 😉 Anna 😀 😀 😀 :diablo:

In all seriousness I don’t know what good this action will do the church as a whole.
Some argue whether it has a place in society these days. I would say that religion as a whole does but I doubt the church (in the traditional sense that has been implied here i.e. Church of England) will ever have the same standing in society as it used to have. For one it has become fragmented into many different forms and doesn’t have the same “clout” in society as it once did. This is I know a generalisation as I’m sure in some areas the church still holds a major influence in some communities.
I think this dumbing down will not produce the longer term results that they strive and will only damage the church’s reputation further.
Promoting the church is all about the way it is done. “Bible bashing” doesn’t work for all and in today’s society probably alienates or discourages people more than “recruit” them. People find religion when (and where) they need it.
