A little late on in posting these, but I only got around to having a look through them yesterday. Its been nearly a year since I last visted LHR!
I got a text from Adam Spalding the night before asking if I would be about, and I had a head’s up on the Japanese 747’s, and the weather was set to be great… so it would have been a bit silly not to have gone right? 😀
I was fairly happy with the results I came away with – the light was tricky at time, sometimes blowing the whites etc. It was also the first time that I had been to the location at which these were taken (departures).
Reason for going was the JASDF 747’s departing. It was great to see so many people in attendence around the airport enjoying the sunny day!
Anyhow, on with the show. Comments would be appreciated.
Enjoy!
The morning started at the 09L end for arrivals, until we were told to move by the Police (A first for me at this location).

Sorry for the large amount – I hope they were worth the look!
More if wanted…

Yeah and did we? Nope! 😎
Nice selection indeed mate! Like the A380 although I was more concerned with being sh*t on by the birds than the departing A380!

Some excellent shots there A330Crazy…liking the bird on the SQ A380 one!:)
Just out of interest, the aircraft in the background of the CX Cargo 744, is it an LH 747 by any chance?
By the way, I’m an LHR local myself too, so if your ever heading up to the airport for a photo/spotting session, feel free to get in touch via PM and I’ll let you know if I am free or not, maybe we can meet up.

Excellent snaps, Andrew. Of the usual high standard, too!
A couple of weeks and I’ll be back for the regular Heathrow meets! 🙂
