Tomorrow night will be VERY long!

I just realised that I shall have a very long night indeed tomorrow (Sunday night). The brand new A1 series from Brands Hatch starts at 11:55pm and goes through till 3.30am, then the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix coverage starts at 4.45am and goes through till 7am! Phew, what a great night’s coverage of live motorsport. Must be great for those in Europe who can spend all Sunday afternoon on the couch.

I am a little worried though, I hope that since A1 has chosen to race on the same day as F1 that future races won’t clash. That would be silly as they’ll both have the same audience. I know there’s only a handful of F1 races left and the A1 season is just beginning so I doubt they will have scheduled clashes.

Here’s to the future os A1 racing. The series looks like it will be fantastic and will be a true world series as each team represents a countr. Go the Kiwi team!

I have to almost agree with you there Minidoh. I don’t yet prefer it to F1, but it was damn near close as good.

So much action and amazing to see everyone involved and vying for postion at the start, where in any other race the richer teams streak away from the ‘back markers’. There were some great passing manouvres – that’s a great track at Brands Hatch – never seen it before though obviously I’ve heard of its history.

Well done to Brazil, their car and driver were amazing. I am also really pleased to see how well Matt Halliday did for NZ after his mistake on the warm-up lapthat put him to the back and starting from the pitts. Coming fourth after that was a great drive.

And, what about that amazing accident with Italy vs Lebanon. The in-car camera catching his split-second panicked flailing was stunning footage. I was so pleased to see him walk away, and later smiling about the crash. It looks like this new sport has a great crop of young and very talented drivers, and I for one shan’t miss any future races.

WOW – what racing! A1 rocks.

Is anyone else watching? Really fast, lots of action.

A pity the Kiwi car stalled on the second race. Not the only one doing bad in the race though!
