Yeah, looks like they`re all living in London.BUT,just because this nest has been “discovered”, after no grief at all over the past 15 years, should it be destroyed
Its warm thats why!! If you go on the London Underground, not only will you see rats but look close and you will see Scorpions!!! It is an ideal breeding environment. 😉 Anna 😉

Was told today that a wasp nest measuring over 7 feet long, has been “discovered” at the bottom of next-door`s garden. An “expert” reckons it could hold over 40,000 of them, and reckons the nest is about 15 years old.Funny thing is that I`ve only had 3 wasps in my house this year

I was told by a wasp expert today, the lack of wasps was due to the coldest spring since 2001 😉 Anna 😀

Well I was going to say eyebrows instead of hands, but then I thought I’ve probably seen Dan-minus an eyebrow more times than I’ve seen him with both intact!

And also blow your hands off if you’re not careful! 😉

It was due to us having a very irregular spring. The Queen Wasps came out early in a warm spell we had, which was then followed by a particularly cold spell which killed them all, meaning no baby wasps were born.
Daddy-long-Legs do seem to be far more prevalent here however, this house is swarming with them, and they have a tendency to fly down and attack me when I’m at the desk.
A brief recon mission followed by a search and destroy exercise last night soon solved that problem though :diablo:

This year’s fad is the dreaded….
*drumroll*
*wait for it*
Daddy long legs!
I absolutely hate these little darlings. To me, they are flying spiders. We had three of them in out newly built conservatory. They’re so annoying.
What’s funny though, is that they seem to follow me. One even decided to come to college with me!
I noticed one in my house, and tried to ignore it. When I was trying to get to sleep it kept buzzing around my head to I got up and flung it out the window – strage thing is, next morning I went to the garage and on the Padlock was……..you guessed it, the same bloddy daddy longlegs.

Not heard of wood wasps before.
I used to live in a house where we had ground nesting bees in the gardens…
