That is a fair judgment… has anyone flown with CSA? How are they like?

on Sunday 29/5/05 my folks flew back to heathrow on American Airlines, they said the American eagle flight from miami to chicago on an emb 135/145 was brilliant, because the check in agent gave them an earlier flight because the weather at O’hare could not be guarenteed(sp?) but American Airlines flt098 was poor….the flight crew was short tempered, the inflight meal was of “Road side cafe” quality and the IFE was not much better….i had a look at the inflight mag…and if it wasnt adverts on steak houses in Texas it was about computing systems, no fleet information or what is being played on the IFE…the only real info was on the “transcontinantel or Non transcontinantel” box meal you could purchase for $3 or $5 respectivly.
The soft drinks are free (coke, lemonade,Dr pepper and the respective diet drinks and mineral waters) are free……but beers, alcohol and cocktails are charged at $5 a pop.
knowing what i know now…i have to say its BA all the way for me on Trans atlantic flights

In my opinion you can’t beat British Airways short-haul.
But long-haul they aren’t really that great I didn’t think so anyway. KLM should be up there!

I have got to disagree with American getting best economy class – good legroom, but apart from that, it was bloody naff – certainly not a patch on Virgin imo!

I’m glad to see we are in there in 2 of our main markets.
The Institute of Customer Service have also awarded BA cabin crew ‘World Class’ status having achieved the highest ever results in their assessment of airline staff.
See I am quite good at this!

Although I agree with you in principle… I must add that there is more to a cabin class than its leg room. Yes the room is an important part, but the service and quality of it is also a deciding factor.
Yeah, thats what I mean. Having flown them both transatlantic and domestic I think their coach class is fine, but other than MRTC I can’t see any other factors which would make it special.
Is there anywhere that states the reasons why each airline was awarded ?
Still, well done to them anyway.

AA gets ‘best coach class’, but was this decision made based on the ‘More Room Throughout Coach’ (MRTC) program? If so, it no longer applies because they have started to remove the MRTC program and add more seats.
There’s nothing wrong with their coach class, but I can’t see why else they would get that award.
