West Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation after Bradford City’s team coach was attacked following Saturday’s game at Rotherham.
The Bantams were travelling back on the M1 from their 1-1 draw at Millmoor when two thugs hurled bricks from a bridge near junction 40. The missiles hit the coach, but the driver was able to retain control.
Police are now searching for the two culprits, both of whom are believed to be around 12 years old.
Club secretary Jon Pollard, who was sitting at the front of the coach, said: “They are complete idiots and could have caused a major disaster.
“If the bricks had been a few inches lower they would have hit the windscreen right in front of the driver’s face. There was one hell of a bang when they hit the coach and the top of the windscreen is a mess.
“Thankfully he was able to keep complete control of the vehicle and got us back safe.”
