The Exam Results thread!

Well after a bit of discussion last night I thought I’d start a thread about it down here.

For my A Levels I ended up with 3 B’s and 2 C’s. B’s in General Studies, Economics, and Business Studies. C’s in History and Politics.

Leeds, my first choice wanted 3 B’s, but don’t count General Studies, so in theory I haven’t got in, but just spoke to them and they’ve told me that they accepted me anyway 😀

However I have lost all faith in the exam system. In January I got several A’s, but also 2 U’s and an E. I resat them in June, and even after going 6 months with no study of the subjects, amanged to get 1 U and an E up to A grades, and the other U up to a B.

In the main exams I sat in July in those subjects, I managed to get another U and an E

Sorry to bring this up if it’s already been covered, but there were a few people on here mentioning their GCSE results the other week. I’ve been away celebrating at Reading festival and so haven’t had chance to catch up, so how did everyone do? Get better/worse than you were hoping, and got plans now for the next year?

Haha nice one guys, my celebration attempts were decidedly modest in comparison, just a few pubs and a club and in bed by 2!

I should point out im the fool in the last piccie, and that my mate Adam (second photo) and I ‘liberated’ the Virgin Megastores sign, and erected it on top of the girls school assembly hall…
Who said Public schoolboys were straightlaced?

Well NOTHING quite matches Bangor- except perhaps Aberwystwyth.
Well dun guys, we’ve done our countries proud. Anyone have any parties then last night? I opened my results with a pint in one hand at Witherspoons at about 09:30 and stayed firmly planted in that seat until closing time at 23:00. A random guy bought our lot two bottles of £30 champers and two rounds of drinks, so he’s now an honourary Old Monmothian. After the pub shut, we went on to my mate Lisa’s house and pretty much drank her place dry. Finally had some shuteye at 05:30.
Overall a brilliant day, marred only by the thought that after 7year of being with these guys, we’re finally being torn apart. Here are some photos of the night and by jove i’ve even found some that are suitable for public consumption… Hope everyone had an equally good day/night.

that was one of the reasons i am taking the course – i can have more career choice in the field of aviation if i did this course – i’m aiming to be a pilot, and if i don;t suceed 😮 , i could go into the airport/airline management side with such a degree.

Ben, my results were the overall grades for all my exams over the last 2 years. Same for Barnowl and bmistar. The others are sort of half way grades for exams over just the first year of the 2 year study period

Grey Area – Yup I think so, as I will only be an hour away 😀

Those are all resits?????

Well, good job. Had to take resits 2 years ago, during that incredible hot summer. This year, I passed, even with a distinction! 😀

I find it weird so many people have bad points for History in the UK. In Belgium it’s actually very easy, most students have good points. I did notice however it’s a lot more difficult in the UK and people have a better knowledge of history. In Belgium, most people are not very interrested, leave alone young pupils.
