Anyway, let’s take this opportunity to celebrate Northwest airlines who are of course becoming a less common sight than they once were.

That particular aircraft was delivered to Northwest in October 2006, so it’s hardly an ‘old bird’.

Some great pics here…My fiance flew from America twice using Northwest – apparently a very good airline.
Interesting fleet too. The A330-200 posted above was the one she flew one, big old bird.

Between about 1950 and 1970 only Pan Am and TWA were the only American passenger airlines serving Heathrow, then Pan Am started through-plane flights with Delta,Northwest and National , Here a Northwest 707 lands on the rarely used runway05 at Heathrow in 1971
