Such a relief to know I am not the only one that didn’t watch it, was beginning to think I was all alone!

No Grey Area they didn’t get my attention I allready knew about Poverty and World Hunger, I just don’t need some Pop Stars telling me to ask the G8 to help out when they allready are doing the best they can do with todays Political World Problems.
I actually totally agree with you. That Bob Geldof is an annoying git, he is causing more problems by doing this. Don’t even get me started on his stuck up daughters who think there great.

Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Pink Floyd were by far the best

uum no… Scott is clean now… and he was performing with a sprained ankle.
Oh right didn’t relize that. He looked pretty smashed to me! 😉
The other members seemed reasonably “with it” it was just Scott, no credit taken away from him he did a great performance and I have a lot of respect for him.
I can’t belive Matt Sorum (VR drummer) used to look like this when he was in G’N’R.

Now he is looking great (and younger), liked his suit that he was wearing! 😀

Not as good as the first. Most of the acts were sub-par compared with the 1985 show.
Velvet Revolver were great, but the crowd didn’t like them. More of a Robbie Williams crowd. 😉
Scott was absolutely p****d! That’s what 10 years of drugs does to you.

uum no… Scott is clean now… and he was performing with a sprained ankle. Agreed on the “Robbbie Williams” crowd part…but no credit taken from R. Williams… he really got the crowd going.
Coldplay sucked real bad.

I was there and the organisation was excellent. The police were helpful and there were no problems as far as I saw. Well done to the organisers, police, ambulance and all other services involved in putting together the event.

And then the Velvet Revolver interview afterwards… “So Scott is this the biggest crowd you’ve ever played too?… No there was a bigger crowd of Greeks back in ancient Greece, 500 years ago!” :diablo:
Thats Scott for you….. and later on Slash was asked about the Snow Patrol show and he went “they are definately playing music up there…. can have a lighter?” 😀
Also Velvet Revolver gets the award for the most “****s” in the show. lol

Thought REM did a good job too. But the best bit was Hey Jude at the end…what a way to finish.
By: Ren Frew - 3rd July 2005 at 13:24
Highlights definately Pink Floyd and Velvet Recolver.

I thought it was a great spectacle. I liked the majority of the music, (Razorlight, Mariah Carey, Joss Stone, Robbie Williams, Scissor Sisters and my favourite The Who) and I liked Lennie Henry doing his piece.

when he introduced the beautiful young Ethiopian lady who was “ten minutes from death” twenty years ago during the Live Aid concert.
😀
A very poignant moment i thought
