Just thought I’d try out my new DSLR, my knowledge of taking photos is still zero but hey.
This one is in the Airway N864 climbing to FL240, looking up the Bristol Channel, you can see Newport & the Severn Bridges. My house is somewhere in the top right of the pic 😀

A “nice” view of Sunderland as we were late downwind to Rwy 25 at Newcastle. The Stadium of Light is in view nicely there.

Turning base leg over South Shields

Surprise visitors to NCL, these were there along with an Apache AH-64A & 4 Typhoons
Anyone know what was going on?

Next looking down the Rhone Valley towards Avignon, the Rhone River can be seen clearly (well kind of clearly)

This Blue Line MD-83 brought in the press to cover the Tour De France.

Looking West towards the base of The Alps as we headed North we can see Mt Vertoux where the Tour De France finished yesterday.

Nice view of Lyon as we passed by Northbound towards Dijon & South Paris

A view along the Northern coast of Normandy towards the Cherbourg Peninsula as the sun started to go down & we headed West towards the Channel Isl. (wasn’t this calm 65 years ago)

A graphical view of the pic above, damn headwinds, only 302kts GS made our journey over 2hrs

And to finish is a view of the office, which is one of the newest to join us

not sure why there was 4 “phoons” up at newcastle, only one flew at the weekend, unless the other 3 were on ops :S

Great shots Dean – particularly enjoyed your ones from the north east. That’s a nice view of the coast that you guys get on approach… though it’s not a scratch on the view that we GAs have from 1,000ft over the Tyne Bridges!
The Reds were in for the Sunderland Air Show which took place this weekend, at Seaburn just to the left out of shot of your Sunderland photo. Lovely weather for it yesterday, not so great today…

Also it’s a shame Photobucket de value’s the shots somewhat when they reduce the size
I remember when I had a free Photobucket account it used to do all kinds of odd things to my photos, but the Pro account is perfect. The images I post on the new from there look exactly the same as my originals (so they all look out of focus and boring!) If you plan on posting photos on a semi-regular basis then I’d recommend upgrading. It’s not that expensive from what I can remember.

P.S. Feel free to drop me a PM or email if I can help with any DSLR tips. 🙂

Thanks Paul, yes i missed a few spots, I got rid of a load on Photoshop last night but missed some as it was getting late and my enthusiasm for ridding the pics was….well, zero 😀

It’s always interesting to see your shots from ‘up front’, Deano, so thanks for sharing these. I hope your new camera brings you much happiness, although it seems you’ve already acquired a few dust spots! One of the down sides of DSLR’s unfortunately!
