So TUI have rebranded all Britannia planes with Thomsonfly.com, but Thomsonfly.com is still just the lo-co arm and mentions nothing to the charter operator. The old Britannia site redirects to the new Thomsonfly one, so are they going to update the website or is this just a huge advertising campaign for the lo-co.

After all – How many holiday makers will actually care that the airline they are flying on has been rebranded?
This is very true, but it is a problem when they want to book maybe a Thomson holiday but they actually go into Thomas Cook because they sound all too similar this happens quite a bit since the rebrand.
They will regret it in the long run.

We don’t know how they’ve done since Britannia was rebranded, I imagine in the long run, it will save a fair bit of tosh for tui having everything branded under the same name.

The Britannia/Thomsonfly whatever re-brand hasn’t been a good idea at all in my opinion. Britannia was fine so was Hapag-Lloyd, but they had to re-brand everything and I think personally this is a disaster.
Great shame! 🙁

I think theres now only one a/c in the whole fleet left that isnt in Thomsonfly livery (G-BYAI which is still in the old Britannia livery). This could have been painted by now.

Haha, it’ll be better once it all settles into the Thomsonfly mould I guess, at the moment it’s all still getting towards, at least (most of) the charter aircraft are painted in Thomsonfly livery now

Funnily I asked an ex-Britannia colleague of mine about this just the other day.
Apparently the idea is that eventually you and I won’t be able to tell the difference between the two airlines. One website, identical look, identical service, etc., whether charter flight or lo-co flight.
By all accounts the whole Britannia/Thomson/Thomsonfly/TUI thing is a nightmare within the company, with people not even sure who they work for any more!

Just a little note to say that they only include upto the end of October 2005, whereas if you go on www.thomsonflights.com you can select upto the end of October 2006! Durham Tees Valley gaining a Bourgas flight next year

If you select ‘more options’ on the booking form it puts all the charter destinations in for you
