Just heard that James Jacobs director of failed furniture company has been found hanged after he lost his company pension, His family say he could not bear the cross of the failed company.
It occured to me that director is a lovely job when things are running well at your getting huge bonuses etc, but when things go wrong your so alone.
Courts folded on a 280 million pounds debt, I feel for his family tonight.
More bad news is that Allders who are in administration are laying off 700 staff, I am a Croydon lad and Allders have always been a huge employer of staff and seeing this company go into administration is really upseting in my view, Most people in Croydon know somebody who was worked in Alders at some point.
I feel so sorry for these 700, 209 of them from the Croydon head office, and for the 130 who had already been made redundant from Croydon, What a awful start to 2005 for them.
